Didn't think I would feel this way...

Yesterday, I met with my dissertation chair and things went really well. Don't get me wrong...there were several comments and it seemed a bit overwhelming. I left with confidence and a positive attitude, however. I guess it helps when your dissertation chair is nurturing and provides feedback in a way that doesn't make you feel like a complete idiot, LOL!

I also left feeling determined. So determined that I went home and worked on the second round of revisions for at least an hour. My chair told me that the information I provided was great, especially the significance and literature review (two of the most important aspects of the dissertation), but that I needed to reorganize the material. She told me that I needed to provide more information on race and interaction effects. Also, that I needed to determine whether resilience is a behavior or state of mind. What do you guys think, LOL!

It's a teaching day so I have not gotten much accomplished with the dissertation. My plans are to work on it for a least an hour or two at some point this evening...after a much needed pedicure. Anyhow, I didn't think I would feel this way when I initially headed to my dissertation meeting yesterday. Thank God, I must say that I feel GREAT...Blessed, Confident, Optimistic and Determined! Happy Reading and Writing Ladies!

  2. That is fabulous, EJ! I am glad you were able to treat yourself to a pedicure, too! Hmm, regarding resilience, maybe it is a state of mind that manifests itself in certain behaviors...
