What's the Point?

No, not what's the point of the dissertation (which is what I constantly ask myself in the middle of my stressful, sleep-deprived nights). The current point I am refering to is that of this blog. I thought that by logging on each day and documenting how we have worked toward finishing our dissertations, we might be able to encourage each other and keep each other accountable. Eyes on the prize, Ladies! Just picture yourself walking across that stage and never having to worry about defending a dissertation ever again. (Unless of course you take a faculty job.) Here's to finishing the race! Also, Happy Birthday, EJ1!

Okay, on a not-so-good note, I have been sick today and creating this blog has been the only thing I have accomplished (besides continually popping pills). If I am lucky, I will be dressed by 5 o'clock (and I have been working on that all day long). Tomorrow, however, I plan to work on beefing up my lit review. Specifically, I need to further research how parental behaviors affect children's feelings. I guess I should at least mention the topic of my dissertation. I will spare you the extra-long title and just say that it examines how harsh parenting techniques can lead to decreased quality of attachment in parent-child relationships. I have been working on it forever, and I hope to complete it by March 1, 2010. Say a little prayer for me. I need it.
